Mexico City, February 4, 2025 - Ingredion Mexico was recognized with three State Low-Carbon Emissions Seals, awarded by the Government of the State of Querétaro. The awards were presented by Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, Secretary of Sustainable Development (SEDESU), and José Francisco Landeras Layseca, Municipal Trustee, at the San Juan del Río plant. Both officials highlighted the company’s importance to the economic and environmental development of the Municipality of San Juan del Río and the State of Querétaro. On January 30, the seals were received by José Guadalupe Ochoa Cruz, Director of Operations at Ingredion Mexico, and Mario Alberto Jacuinde Pérez, Plant Manager.

At Ingredion Mexico, we believe it is essential to offer high-value ingredients to our customers while ensuring the long-term sustainability of our business through responsible practices with stakeholders and the talent within the company,” said José Guadalupe Ochoa. He emphasized the State Government’s collaboration in achieving organic and sustainable growth.

The seals and recognitions awarded to Ingredion’s San Juan del Río plant were granted for the compensation of 150,000 tons of CO₂ in 2022 and 2023 through Carbono Biodiverso projects in the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve and the Food Bank Network of Mexico (Red BAMX), both locally and nationally. It is also notable that in 2023 the company reduced 30,000 tons of indirect CO₂ through the cogeneration process implemented at its facilities.
